Performances
Performances are normally measured by how many changes are rung of a method. Most performances are known as a 'quarter peal', which contain around 1,250 changes and last around 45 minutes. On very special occasions we will ring a whole 'peal', which will contain up to 5,000 changes and can take up to 3 hours.
Any method rung that doesn't reach the length of a quarter peal may be referred to as a 'plain course' or a 'touch'. When there are more ringers than ropes a performance may be a number of touches, referred to as 'general ringing'. On more somber events we may toll a single bell. In each case, it is customary for each performance to have a dedication. Further details on past performances can be found on BellBoard.
If you would like us to dedicate a performance to a particular anniversary or event please contact us.
